Webinar 04/16/26

April 27, 2026

On April 16 at 12:00 PM ET, we hosted a live webinar on Zoom examining the use of entertainment education (EE) on social media platforms to support social and behavioral change in diverse global settings.

The session explored how EE is being adapted for short-form digital formats to reach broad audiences, with presenters highlighting the use of dramas, comedies, testimonials, and other storytelling strategies to promote healthier and more pro-social behaviors. Key areas of focus included nicotine and tobacco control, vaccination uptake, and women’s health, along with discussion of how creative content can strengthen public health messaging across different contexts.

The webinar featured presentations from Uttara Bharath Kumar, Senior Advisor for Social and Behavioral Science at the Center for Communication Programs at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health; Jessica Rath, Senior Vice President at the Schroeder Institute, Truth Initiative; Julie Szabo, Principal at Capulet Communications; Sarah Doty, Junior Partner at Capulet Communications; and Brenda Dimaya, Senior Research Associate at the Schroeder Institute, Truth Initiative.
